What this site knows about you
This is a portfolio run by one person. Nothing here is sold, and nothing is shared with anyone except the services named below, each of which is doing a job I asked it to do. If you would rather not be measured at all, the last section says how.
What is measured while you read
The site uses PostHog to understand how people move through it. It records pages viewed, clicks and the text you copy, where a page is scrolled and where clicks land but do nothing, rage clicks, how quickly pages render, network timing, and JavaScript errors. It also records sessions, which is a replay of the pointer and the page rather than a video of you, and every form field is masked before it leaves the browser, so what you type is not in the recording.
PostHog keeps a cookie and a little browser storage so that two visits on the same device are understood as the same person. That identity is a random identifier, not a name.
On the live site only, Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights count page views and measure loading speed. Neither uses a cookie.
What is measured about your company
The site is wired for two more services, each of which runs only if I have switched it on: Microsoft Clarity, which records the same kind of session replay as above, and RB2B, which attempts to work out which company a visitor is browsing from, and in some cases who they are, from their network address. If you are reading this at work, assume the organisation can be identified.
I use that to know which kinds of company find the site, not to contact anyone who has not written to me first.
What you give me on purpose
The contact form asks for a name, an email address and a message. All three are stored in a database and emailed to me. It is stored first and sent second, so that a mail failure does not lose what you wrote.
I read every one myself. I keep them for as long as the conversation might still be live, and delete them when it is not. If you want yours deleted sooner, ask, and it goes.
How to stop it
Blocking is the reliable way: any content blocker, or your browser's tracking protection, will stop all of the above, and the site is built to work perfectly well without any of it. Clearing this site's cookies and storage resets the identifier and makes your next visit a new one.
Or write to me and I will remove whatever is there. I would rather hear from you than measure you.
Asking about any of this
me@deviprasad.info. That reaches me, not a queue.
